Mark O’Connell, a 20-year real estate veteran with Sutton Group – All Pro Realty Inc., in Lindsay, Ontario, is the owner of the world’s oldest manufactured hockey stick, which predates 1871.   At approximately one metre (three feet) in length, the stick is a true one piece (full size for the day).   Considered the ‘holy grail’ among hockey fans, this antique stick has been designated a historical piece by the Hockey Hall of Fame.

The painting that is featured in the print was done by a British soldier in 1867.   It depicts the earliest record of hockey in Canada and currently hangs in the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia.   Last year, Mark began the process of having a graphic artist design a print of the stick imposed on this legendary painting so that fans had an opportunity to own an image of Canada’s most coveted hockey memorabilia.
