Surrey, B.C. – The 2005 annual Breakfast with the Bank Fundraiser for the Surrey Food Bank will be held on May 5, 2005 from 7:00am to 8:00am. Due to overwhelming demand, this year’s event has been moved to a larger venue – the CRYSTAL at YORK #205-12830 80 Avenue in Surrey.   Last year’s event was at full capacity and generated over $40,000 in just one hour!

Graham Higgins, a Sales Associate with Sutton – Premier Realty is appealing to the general public and fellow Realtors to act as table captains.

Graham explains: “A table captain heads a table of eight.   All they need to do is invite seven clients or friends to a free breakfast with a live auction.   I am challenging other Surrey and North Delta Realtors to put a table together-it is such an easy way to help the community. This event can also be a great networking opportunity as there are developers, bankers and politicians in attendance.   Every year we hope to reach more people to increase exposure and help fundraise for the growing needs of the Surrey Food Bank.   A group of dedicated volunteers provides the complimentary breakfast and we need help to bring in guests with high energy and resources to contribute!”

All proceeds will be used to provide food and clothing to those in need and to operate programs such as Tiny Bundles, which assists low-income parents and their children in Surrey and North Delta. Graham Higgins, Chairman of the Surrey Food Bank Foundation, is a long-term, dedicated supporter of the Surrey Food Bank and organizer of this event.
