Edmonton, AB - Dave Harback of Sutton Group – Premiere Real Estate is getting a head start on working with the national charity Raising the Roof to create an even bigger Toque Tuesday fundraising campaign in Edmonton.   In January 2005, Dave distributed 100 toques to help put a roof over the heads of a growing number of homeless Canadians.   He hopes that agents throughout the country will get involved this time around to sell over 1000 toques, which will raise at least $10,000 for Raising the Roof’s initiatives.

“I feel that this program is something that is needed and can help our people locally,” says Dave.   He has been told that if Sutton Group sells 1000 toques by February of 2006, a special advertisement may be considered to increase awareness of Raising the Roof.   “If we could get all offices behind this program and do a national push, it would be a huge benefit to the program.”

Raising The Roof is the only national charity dedicated to finding long-term solutions for homelessness by trying to stop the alarming growth rate of families and children who are becoming homeless.   Their annual Toque Campaign gives people from all walks of life the opportunity to show their support for these solutions by purchasing a Raising the Roof toque and wearing it proudly on February 7, 2006.   Toques are $10 each, with proceeds supporting grassroots community homelessness agencies across Canada, as well as Raising the Roof’s public education initiatives.
