Ongoing Community Donations from Sutton REALTORS® Total $70,000

London, ON – For the fifth year in a row, REALTORS® Renald Guindon and Dan Grantham with Sutton Group – Preferred Realty Inc.* have donated more than $12,000 to several local charities including the Canadian Cancer Society, Women’s Community House, London Humane Society, London Food Bank, Boys & Girls Club and many others. In addition to receiving the London and St. Thomas Real Estate Board’s Community Service Award in 2004, partly due to their donations program, Broker of Record Gerry Weir is very pleased with their outstanding record of generosity to the community. The appreciation does not stop there; countless others have been touched by their contributions.

“We have to say that every one of our clients is not only impressed but appreciative of the program,” says Dan. Although it is impossible to measure how many lives have been directly affected by their donations, it is safe to say that their kindness will continue to send positive ripples through the London community for years to come. It all started with a simple idea six years ago.

“We looked at large successful businesses and they had something in common, they all gave back to the communities in which they did business,” says Renald. “If it was a good strategy for large companies, it was a good strategy for our small business.”

Through their donation program, Renald and Dan give a portion of their commission to a charity. The charity is chosen by the client. “It’s a win, win, win situation,” says Dan Grantham. “The charity gets the money, our clients choose the cause and we feel good about doing our part.”

Over the last six years since their donation program began, they have donated more than $70,000. “We believe in giving back to the community in which we make our living,” says Renald.

Cyclical changes in the real estate market are not going to dampen their generous spirit. This is a time when their donations are most needed in the community. “We are committed to continuing this program. It is not negotiable. Good things happen whenever you give first.”
