Sutton Broker Recently Elected Vice-President of the REBGV

North Vancouver, BC – Congratulations to Rosario Setticasi, Broker of Sutton Group – West Coast Realty, who was elected as a Director of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver (REBGV) for the third time on February 7, 2009. Soon afterwards, Rosario’s fellow Directors appointed him Vice-President of the REBGV. By tradition, next year, he will be President-Elect then President in 2011. With 27 years in the industry, Rosario brings a wealth of experience to one of Canada’s largest real estate boards. The REBGV has 9,700 member REALTORS® serving a vast area from Whistler to Tsawwassen, which encompasses some of Canada’s most valuable real estate.

“It is a great honour to be nominated by the membership,” says Rosario. “As Vice-President, one of my principal goals will be to ensure that the public continues to value the REALTOR® in the transaction. One way this can be achieved is through consistently ethical behaviour amongst REALTORS®.”

As Vice-President of the REBGV, Rosario will advance and promote the interests of members working in many types of real estate transactions including residential, commercial, investment, industrial land development, rental property management, and strata management. Rosario will also be responsible for working with all levels of government to promote the interests of home owners, buyers and sellers. During his previous two terms as a Director, he gained experience on numerous committees: Government Relations, Quality of Life, Governance, Arbitration and Audit.

Other experiences that have contributed to Rosario’s leadership qualifications include working as the North Shore Division Director, a B.C.R.E.A instructor and an Ethical Leadership Facilitator. Rosario gained an understanding of the day-to-day challenges that REALTORS® encounter during his 16 years in sales. Beginning in 1998, he entered a management role. Twenty-four of his 27 years in the real estate industry have been spent at Sutton. Currently, as Broker at Sutton Group – West Coast Realty in North Vancouver, Rosario oversees and mentors approximately 100 REALTORS®.

Supporting the community where he lives is also a priority. “I was involved with Sutton Golf for Kids for several years. I helped to organize the event, which raises money for the B.C. Children’s Hospital. In real estate, our personal connections go deeply into the community and inevitably touch the lives of sick children and their families. That makes this type of fundraiser even more meaningful.”
