Winnipeg, MB – REALTOR® Sheldon Zamick with Sutton Group – Kilkenny Real Estate has been appointed Chair of the REALTOR® Fundraising Campaign for the new Canadian Human Rights Museum. The museum will be a popular destination for locals and tourists. Sheldon is proud to be involved with this project as he suggests, “human rights are important to everyone and need to be properly acknowledged,” adding, “human rights are paramount to people around the world.”

Sheldon’s mandate is to target fellow colleagues across the country. REALTORS® from the Winnipeg area have raised $210,000 to date. He also took his fundraising efforts to the next level by attending the Banff Western Connection in January with former Winnipeg Mayor, Glenn Murray. Murray presented at this forum to REALTORS® from BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan on the project and asked for their support. Zamick states, “This project is a massive undertaking,” and also questions, “but can you imagine what could happen with the help of 97,000 REALTORS® across the country?”

Construction on the facility will begin this fall and completion is anticipated in two years time on this architectural marvel. “The building can be described as awe-inspiring,” says Sheldon. Situated in downtown Winnipeg, the facility will be the first national museum that the Canadian Federal Government has agreed to locate outside of Ottawa.
