Toronto, ON – Jane Nichols, REALTOR® with Sutton Group – Admiral Realty Inc.*, is a dedicated volunteer with the McMichael Canadian Art Collection, Kleinburg, Ontario, the only major public art gallery devoted solely to the collecting and exhibiting of Canadian art. Jane embraces this as an opportunity to allow her to follow her passion of art, but more importantly, a way for her to give back to her community.

The McMichael Volunteer Committee’s most important initiative is their funding for the Visual Outreach Initiative Creating Empowered Students (VOICES). This program affords at-risk children a great learning opportunity. They also sponsor the popular Sunday Concert Series which features talented members of the Canadian Amateur Musicians Association.

Funds are raised through their Annual Autumn Art Sale. This year’s event will be held Oct 23-25, 2009. Over the past 25 years, the McMichael Volunteer Committee has contributed over $250,000 to the Gallery.

Jane has been involved as a member of the McMichael Volunteer Committee for nine years. Since the fall of 2004, Jane has served as an Executive Member, and is responsible for communicating with all volunteers, ensuring they are up-to-date with all of the Volunteer Committee events. She says, “It is very rewarding to be involved in something where you are helping the community.” In recognition for her years of service, Jane received an Ontario Volunteer Service Award this past April.
