Woodstock, ON – Congratulations to Lorna Corbett, Broker of Record for Sutton Group – Right Way Real Estate (2007) Inc.*. She was elected President of the Woodstock-Ingersoll and District Real Estate Board for 2010.

Lorna will bring a wealth of experience to the position. Her understanding of the real estate industry is extensive; she has worked her way through the ranks, starting as an office administrator in 1984, becoming licensed as a Sales Representative in 1999 and as a Broker in 2002. Most recently, Lorna purchased the Sutton Group – Right Way Real Estate (2007) Inc.* office in Woodstock. Last year, she served as Vice President and the two years prior was a Director on the Board. During her time with the Board her focus has been the development and launch of their new website.

Lorna’s responsibilities in her new role include overseeing the daily operations of the Board and ensuring the various committees are fulfilling their obligations. Lorna is looking forward to the year ahead; “I am excited and eager to face the challenges for the coming year.” She points out two of the most significant challenges will be the introduction of the HST and new mandatory energy audits. She also notes that one of her mandates while President will be “to keep membership moving forward professionally.” During her presidency she plans to use her leadership role to encourage new agents to volunteer their time for the betterment of the membership.
