Canadian Maritimes in the Spotlight
CANADA – Let your community spirit take flight with a volunteer opportunity that advances science, inspires youth, enhances life for people with vision loss, connects people in need with healthy, affordable food, fosters independent living, or works to reduce impaired driving. The rewards are great for volunteers willing to share their skills and positivity by giving as little as three hours per month. Multiple charitable organizations currently need assistance.
The Ingenium Foundation empowers Canada’s science educators, advocates and future innovators through training and skills development, shared knowledge and bursaries. Ingenium seeks a Board of Director with experience in finance, philanthropy, public relations, marketing, communications, project management and/or education. This work-from-home role requires just five hours per month. Visit www.ingeniumfoundation.ca.
Girl Guides of Canada–Guides du Canada seeks volunteer Guiders to lead girls on educational and fun experiences. A Guider may take Girl Guides on an outdoor scavenger hunt, go camping, or plant a tree. Volunteers can make a positive impact on young lives, as they develop leadership skills, expand their network and travel regionally and internationally. For details, visit http://www.girlguides.ca.
The CNIB Foundation requires volunteers to enhance the quality of life for people with vision loss. Vision Mates can connect virtually with participants by phone or online usually once a week. Depending on the social distancing rules, Vision Mates may also accompany CNIB clientele on walks, read to them, etc. Learn more at www.cnib.ca.
