Meet Your Neighbours

CANADA – Expensive billboard, bus stop, newspaper and magazine advertising does introduce you to potential clients, but it fails in one crucial way: it cannot demonstrate that you are a trustworthy and reliable person. On the other hand, building a stellar reputation in your community can be a limitless source of goodwill and business growth. It starts by getting involved.

Volunteering is an opportunity to meet your neighbours, have some fun, and make an impression.

These spring events across Canada welcome volunteers (and sponsors):

  • British Columbia: Foodstock benefiting the Greater Vancouver Food Bank, Vancouver Dragon Boat, Hike for Hospice in multiple cities, Victoria Highland Games and Celtic Festival, and the Nikkei Place Charity Classic in Burnaby.

  • Alberta: UFest Edmonton Ukrainian Festival, Edmonton’s Downtown Spark, Charity Poker Run in Red Deer, the Central Alberta Children's Festival in Red Deer, and the Old-Fashioned Hoedown in Grande Prairie.

  • Saskatchewan: SaskTel Saskatchewan Jazz Festival and the Nutrien Children’s Festival begin volunteer orientation in April and May for the June events.

  • Manitoba: Dauphin Countryfest, Winnipeg International Children’s Festival, Manitoba Summer Fair, and the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.

  • Ontario: Rescue Party in Toronto benefiting Second Harvest, tree planting on May 6th in Fred Kline Park Brampton and Mad River Creemore, the Canadian Tulip Festival in Ottawa, The Stratford Festival, and SickKids Canadian Food Truck Festivals in multiple communities.

  • Maritimes: Atlantic Festivals of Music Halifax, Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo in Halifax, and Sun Life Walk to Cure Diabetes in Saint John.

If you are looking for an ongoing project that allows you to build connections while you enjoy the outdoors, consider volunteering at your local farmers’ market, or joining an Adopt-a-Street program as an individual, family, or office team.
