Ottawa, ON – Sylvie Hariski and Julie Serré-Matthews began working together nearly two decades ago and officially formed the Sisters Home Team five years ago. Although their backgrounds prior to real estate are quite different (Sylvie completed a career she loved in healthcare, while Julie excelled in the corporate world), they have both approached their careers in real estate with enthusiasm and a dedication to their clients.
Another way these sisters are similar is their passion for helping others. Sylvie and Julie both contribute to the Shepherds of Good Hope and a food bank in Ottawa, and they have helped to build housing in Orleans through Habitat for Humanity.
In addition to local projects, Julie has taken her passion for housing overseas; she has travelled to South American and Portugal to work with other volunteers building homes for families in need. She is also a proud supporter of the Down’s Syndrome Association.
Julie worked for many years in sales for an exhibit design firm before entering the real estate industry. She spent a dozen years with Royal Lepage, where she was recognized with multiple sales awards. In 2016, Julie made the move to Sutton Group - Ottawa to join her sister.
Sylvie enjoyed a 20-year career as a medical laboratory technician at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) then turned her attention to real estate in 2002. Happily, she discovered that her second career was her true calling. Real estate has allowed her to shine; clients appreciate her warmth and knowledge along with the skills she honed during her career in healthcare: her keen attention to detail and an unflappable attitude during stressful situations.
“I still actively donate to CHEO, and I always will,” Sylvie says. “I also give to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. My sister and I both give quite a bit of our income to charitable causes. It is important to us.”
