CANADA – As rising interest rates cool the housing market, it becomes even more important for sales associates to maximize their marketing budgets. Two busy, successful Sutton REALTORS® share their approaches to connecting with clients.
“We can brag about selling so many homes this month or this year, but I think what matters more to people is knowing a REALTOR® is someone they can trust,” says David Eng. “Just putting the words trustworthy and reliable in our marketing material is not enough—we have to demonstrate it.”
How does he do that? David volunteers regularly and occasionally shares his news with Sutton Spirit. Each time he is featured, he posts his story on social media where it is reshared—likely adding to his substantial level of referral business. He includes his stories with personalized calendars and displays printed copies at open houses.
“When people receive a standard flyer, they usually toss it into recycling, but when it’s a story with photos, they’re more likely to stop and read it. It’s a good conversation starter. They can see that I’ve contributed to the community by volunteering more than 100 times. If I’m willing to get up a 3 a.m. to volunteer at a run, imagine how hard I will work for them as their REALTOR®!”
Jane Logan also makes it a priority to give back to her community. This award-winning REALTOR® has generously donated her time, skills and money to charities including Little Phoenix Daycare and Hope Air. When she is featured on Sutton Spirit, she shares her story digitally and distributes printed copies.
Jane completes the circle of goodwill by promoting selected charities on her business website, in newsletters, in magazine articles, and at monthly Businesswomen’s luncheons.
